S'mores are the perfect summer treat. They are definitely a necessity for camping; after a long day of hiking, swimming, sightseeing or just relaxing over the campfire; there is something about eating melted marshmallows around a campfire that always hits the spot. I personally love them anytime! Below are some great s'more recipes that are not the norm but are certainly very yummy. Dare to branch out and give these delicious treats a try.
Peanut Butter & Jelly S'more
Ingredients:
- 2 Graham Crackers
- Strawberry or Grape Preserves/Jelly
- Peanut Butter
- Marshmallow Fluff
Steps:
- Spread one graham cracker with the preserves and the other with the peanut butter.
- Either add the marshmallow fluff between the peanut butter and jelly, or add it on top.
White Chocolate S'more
Ingredients:
- White Chocolate
- 2 Chocolate Graham Crackers
- Marshmallows
- Extra: 5 Raspberries or 2 Strawberries (halved)
Steps:
- Roast the Marshmallow. You can also either heat it over a stove or in a microwave.
- Place the hot marshmallow on one of the chocolate graham crackers.
- Lay the piece of white chocolate over the hot marshmallow and wait 30 seconds to 1 minute for it to soften.
- If you wish, add a few fresh raspberries or strawberries (halved) on top of the chocolate, then add another hot marshmallow to the remaining graham cracker and sandwich the s'more. The additional marshmallow will hold in the fruit.
Nutella & Bananas S'more
Famous Italian chocolate hazelnut spread will have you asking for s'more.
Ingredients:
- Tub of Nutella or other Hazelnut Chocolate Spread
- 1/2 banana
- Roasted Marshmallow
- 2 Graham Crackers
Steps:
- Spread nutella over one of the graham crackers.
- Cut up half a banana and place the pieces on top of the nutella spread.
- Add a warm roasted marshmallow on top of the banana and sandwich with remaining graham cracker.
Double Chocolate S'more à la Mode
Ingredients:
- 2 Chocolate Graham Crackers
- Dark chocolate bar
- Vanilla ice cream (or chocolate, if you're a true chocoholic!)
Steps:
- Prepare just like you would a regular s'more and place in a small bowl.
- Add a scoop of ice cream over the top and eat with a spoon.
Cinnamon Apple S'more
Ingredients:
- Vanilla Sugar
- Cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
- 2 Peeled and Sliced Apples
- ½ Cup apple juice
- Cinnamon Graham Crackers
- Milk chocolate bar
- Mini Marshmallows
Steps:
- In a bowl, mix the apples with the lemon juice, apple juice, vanilla sugar and cinnamon until they are well-coated.
- Add the apples and mixture to a frying pan over medium heat, stir regularly and cook for 5 minutes to soften the apples.
- Place the bottom graham cracker on a plate and top it with the chocolate.
- Add piping hot apples on top of the chocolate bar.
