You won't believe how easy it is to make this fun Thanksgiving table decoration that looks just like a Pilgrim's hat. All you need is a terra cotta clay pot and a few other basic craft supplies.
Before you start this project make sure you have to gathered all of the necessary supplies in order to avoid future frustrations.
For this project you will need:
•Small Terra Cotta Clay Pot
•Black Paint
•Black and Yellow Craft Foam
•White Ribbon
•Craft Glue
•Paint Brush
•Scissors
•Utility Knife (optional)
•Ruler
Start out by flipping over your clay pot and painting it black than let the paint dry.
Using black craft foam, cut out a circle that is about a half an inch larger than the top edge of the pot. This will be the hat's brim.
Cut a small buckle out of yellow craft foam. It may be helpful to use a utility knife to cut out the small details for the buckle.
Cut a piece of white ribbon that is long enough to fit around the large edge of the clay pot
Thread the ribbon through the craft foam buckle as shown in the photo.
Glue the hat band around the large edge of the upside-down clay pot
To finish your pilgrim hat, simply glue the brim in place. Let the glue dry and then enjoy your pilgrim hat Thanksgiving decoration. Ta Da...that's it! So easy and so cute.
