T.G.I.F. Vesper

 

Your Dad has always swooped in and saved the day so why not serve up something up for a man who has been your very own James Bond.  It's no secret that Bond enjoyed his vesper martini...Shaken not Stirred of course.  So shake this one up just for him this weekend. 

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon (1/2 ounce) Lillet Blanc
2 tablespoons (1 ounce) vodka
6 tablespoons (3 ounces) gin
1 cup ice
1 (3/4-inch-thick) strip lemon peel

 

Directions:

In cocktail shaker, combine Lillet Blanc, vodka, and gin. Add ice and shake vigorously until well chilled, about 30 seconds. Strain into chilled martini or coupe glass. Squeeze lemon peel over glass, making sure oils fall into glass, then brush peel along outer lip of glass, drop peel in drink, and serve.

T.G.I.F. Fiery Bloody Mary

 
 
 
I am so happy that the weekend is finally here and for some reason I feel like a bloody mary and a grill cheese sandwich...does that seem weird?!  Who knows but there is nothing like tomato soup and a grill cheese sandwich on a cool fall day so in lieu of the tomato soup I am substituting it for a bloody mary this weekend and a spicy one at that.  I don't know how you like your bloody mary's but I like mine so spicy that they could clear your sinuses...ok so maybe not that spicy but you get what I mean. 

Hope you enjoy this one... 

Mix 2 parts Modmix Wasabi Bloody Mary with 1-2 parts pepper vodka. Serve on the rocks in a high ball glass. Garnish with a multitude of options such as lime wedge, pickled asparagus, celery stick, or prawn.

T.G.I.F. Strawberry Rose Gimlet

Ohhhh, summer is here and so are the sweet, juicy fruits that make some of the most refreshing cocktails.  Start your weekend with this summertime thirst quencher...The Strawberry Rose Gimlet!

To make stir up 3 to 4 fresh strawberries with 3/4 oz. Rosewater syrup and 3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice. Add 2 oz. gin, shake with ice, and strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with cut strawberries.

You can also make these virgin cocktails...they are just as refreshing and definitely fun to drink.

Father's Day Breakfast

Wondering what to do for Dad this Sunday...how about serving Dad a wonderful breakfast in bed to start the day off right. In fact, this menu is hearty enough that you can also serve it as brunch! Mock Cheese Souffle is delicious and super easy, and it's heartier than regular souffles. Apricot Bavarian is a wonderful gelatin salad that is full of flavor. And Dad will love Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake, which is rich and melting, the perfect end to this festive meal.
