It's Wedding Wednesday and with Memorial day coming up this weekend I just couldn't help myself to do something in red and blue for all you bride and grooms looking for a little red & blue wedding inspiration.
From signs to shoes to programs to signature cocktails to favors and decor...This color scheme is absolutely stunning. I love how the red pops against the blue backgrounds - there is somethng about this color scheme that gives it a "Wow" factor.
Navy blue arrows adorned with matching starfish directed guests to the celebration.
I love love love these shoes - they are definitely one of my favorite wedding details. The bride's uncle gave her these shoes as a gift - he is a stylist in New York City. They apparently were the inspiration for the rest of the wedding - from the color palette to the flower arrangements. The bride also loved how they paid homage to her late grandmother, who shared her love of red and feathers. Va va voom, Grandma...simply stunning!
One couple created the ceremony programs with the same red and blue colors and lettering they used on the invitations. The diamond-patterned background gave the covers a vintage, classic feel.
At the reception paper lanterns hung overhead so the centerpieces were low. Hydrangeas lined the edges of the Lucite squares, and grids of floating candles filled the centers. Sea glass in the palette surrounded the arrangements.
Vibrant red peonies and tulips popped against the ladies’ light blue dresses really bringing this color scheme together.
Another couple used the same branch design for their buttercream wedding cake that appeared on their invitations.
Bring out the kids in your guests and send them home with a bag of cotton candy. So whimsical!
I think every party or event should have a signature cocktail it is a great detail that keeps your theme going and it also helps to keep costs down. For this wedding they served the Ti Couz 10 garnished with a blackberry named for the couple's favorite restaurant in San Francisco.
To keep guests from accidentally walking into the ropes holding up the reception tent, the couple hung fabric flags created by the wedding planner. That's what we call a two-fer - it serves as decor for the wedding and it also has a practical use - to keep guests from falling over; although I have been to some weddings where no amount of flags could stop this one.
I say this all the time but try to add personal touches that have meaning to you and your husband and your families...it will mean so much more to you - And your guests will get to know you both a little bit better.
