According to the latest survey fielded by Pelegrin Research Group on behalf of the beef checkoff, Americans are taking their love of beef to the next level – nearly twice as many Americans choose beef versus chicken when asked which satisfies them as much as chocolate does! Additionally, Americans are four times more likely to show their love for beef (and their significant other) by serving steak this Valentine’s Day versus other protein options like chicken, pork or seafood. And they’re not just flirting with beef on Valentine’s Day; they are ready to explore this sizzling protein in new and delicious ways year round. T.G.I.F. Chambord Cocoa

 
We are heading to the mountains this weekend and I am heading to the store to pick-up a few ingredients to make our guests a batch of these yummy White Chocolate Hot Cocoa Treats...de-lic-ious!  I can already envision myself sitting by the fire sipping on one of these.  So relaxing...which is exactly what I need after the week I have had. 

• 1 - 1 1/2 oz White Chocolate Sauce
• 6 oz Steamed Milk
• 3/4 oz Chambord Liqueur
• 3/4 oz Creme de Cacao

*Garnish:  Sweetened whip cream and fresh raspberry

Fill glass coffee cup with boiling water to pre-heat - then pour out water. Mix white chocolate sauce and steamed milk in coffee cup.  Add Chambord and Creme de Cacao. Garnish with whip cream and top with raspberry.

Note:  additional garnishes include gourmet marshmallows and chocolate shavings or chocolate cigarette.

Can you believe that 2010 is over?!  I think I am still in shock that this year is already coming to an end...Wow!  What a year it has been.  I think one of my New Year's resolutions for next year is to keep it simple in 2011.  I am going to stop over complicating things and get back to the basics because I truly believe that is what makes life less stressful.  I will prioritize the things that are truly important and focus on those things!  I am also going to let go of any old baggage or issues (including relationships) that have been taking up too much of my time and energy.

I am going to start my New Year's resolution tonight and toast to it with a simple cocktail...Champagne & Chambord!  What could be a better way to kick-off this New Year than with one of these yummy drinks!  Cheers to you all!!  Have a very Happy (and safe) New Year's!

Champagne & Chambord Drink Recipe:

•1/4 oz Chambord Liqueur
•Champagne Add Chambord to bottom of a flute and top with Champagne. Garnish with a raspberry.

T.G.I.F. Pomegranate Margarita

4th of July is just around the corner and if you are looking for something new and festive to serve up then mix up a batch of Pomegranate Margaritas!  The pomegranate is rumored to be the real fruit that tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden. Now it adds its irresistible touch to the traditional margarita. And, like all of Modmix's mixers, it's all organic. Just add your favorite tequila, and prepare to be shaken.

Here's how to do it:

Mix 2 parts Organic Modmix Pomegranate Cosmopolitan with 1-2 parts tequila. Shake over ice and strain into a martini glass or pour over ice in a margarita glass.

Optional: salt the glass rim. Garnish with a lime or orange wedge.

Ohhhh, summer is here and so are the sweet, juicy fruits that make some of the most refreshing cocktails.  Start your weekend with this summertime thirst quencher...The Strawberry Rose Gimlet!

To make stir up 3 to 4 fresh strawberries with 3/4 oz. Rosewater syrup and 3/4 oz. fresh lemon juice. Add 2 oz. gin, shake with ice, and strain into chilled martini glass. Garnish with cut strawberries.

You can also make these virgin cocktails...they are just as refreshing and definitely fun to drink.
